Red Carpet Fashions from the OC Music Awards

The 2010 OC Music Awards
STYLE TRIBE was on the red carpet of the OC Music Awards last Saturday, to catch the music inspired fashions and interview this year's award winning musicians and their fans. The fashions were as diverse as the genres of music featured and to our surprise many of the men, both artists and attendees, far surpassed the ladies in style. Although, Stacy Clark winner of Best Pop Artist (pictured below, far right) looked adorable in her bumble bee inspired strapless dress adorned with bow and parcel in-hand. Although she told STYLE TRIBE she purchased her dress at SAKS, she was quick to give a shout out to her favorite boutique Bella Bleu in Costa Mesa! The 2010 OC Music Awards

Brought together by the love of music, rock stars from the band LIT sported jeans with blazers and hip-hop artists from My Hero paid tribute to the 80's with brightly colored framed glasses (pictured below). Performers and groupies of the Indie, Folk and Country/Americana genres looked retro-cool with ties tucked into vests over white collared shirts, topped with tailored suit jackets. On stage, STYLE TRIBE had the honor of styling the beautiful award presenters for the night with apparel from two of STYLE TRIBE's member boutiques, Treasury Dept. at the LAB and g. marie of Laguna Beach. Katie (left) wore a Free People black ruffle tank dress $68 with multi-colored metal necklace from g. marie boutique and a vintage leather jacket. Whitney (right) sported black, skin-tight jeggings from Joe's Jeans $98, Holly G. Blazer with crystals $109 and square necklace $32 all from Treasury Dept. The 2010 OC Music Awards

BOUTIQUING.COM BLOWOUT SALE

Boutiquing.com Blowout SaleApril Madigan of Boutiquing.com shares Everything our Stylistas Need To Know
ST: The location of the upcoming Boutiquing Blowout Sale has changed from last time. What can shoppers expect from the new location? Rain proof?
Boutiquing: We are really excited about our new location at the gorgeous Park Prive in Costa Mesa. We had such a great turnout at the last Boutiquing Blowout Sale, we realized we needed A LOT more parking! This venue offers ample parking and enables us to have the boutiques all together, indoor, under one roof for easy and fun shopping regardless of the weather. And probably the best news of all...a fully stocked cash bar, so plan to stay and enjoy the day!

ST: How do you choose the boutiques that are included in the sale events? Are there specific requirements?
Boutiquing: Boutiquing.com is dedicated to discovering and promoting the best boutique experiences. We have personally visited and shopped each boutique on our "Boutiquing Approved" list and once a boutique is listed, they are invited to participate in our Shopping Events - which means shoppers are getting deals from the best boutiques in their area!

ST: What percentage of the retailers at the sale are online stores vs. Boutiques?
Boutiquing: We give priority to brick and mortar boutiques, the vast majority of our participating boutiques have actual physical locations and that is what makes shopping at our events so great - shoppers are exposed to boutiques they may have never shopped in before in one convenient and fun location.

ST: As a first time shopper at a Blowout Sale are there tips you can give our Stylistas in advance?
Boutiquing: Get there early! We give amazing swag bags to the first 50 shoppers who enter the sale, and there is always a line! Don't forget to bring a friend - anyone who mentions STYLE TRIBE at the door will receive 2 for 1 entry! We have group fitting rooms available, but wear something that is easy to throw clothing over or under, maxi dresses are always a great choice, most boutiques have mirrors right in their spaces, and that way you can try things on quickly and easily. Also, bring cash! Most boutiques will accept credit cards, but it is a good idea to bring cash in case you fall in love with something and they aren't set up to take a credit card.

Boutiquing.com Blowout Sale ST: What do you anticipate to be this sales "hot" items?
Boutiquing: There are so many amazing boutiques participating in this sale, we are really excited to shop Skye Montgomery's amazing designers - Robert Rodriguez, Joie, Current Elliot, Diane Von Furstenburg, and tons more all marked down to 50% off! Also look out for steep discounts on designer denim for kids from Wish Boutique, and denim for men and women from Solutions. Boutiques will be giving away $50 gift certificates every hour, and for every item purchased you will receive an extra raffle ticket for the amazing GRAND PRIZE (one $50 item or gift certificate from every participating boutique)! At our past events we have seen boutique owners slash prices throughout the day - our favorite moment being an announcement that all shoes at Kovet Boutique were $1...you should have seen the crazy rush to fight for a pair!

Blowout Sale, Saturday, March 13th from 10am - 6pm at Park Prive, 1570 Scenic Ave., Costa Mesa (off the 405 Freeway and Harbor Boulevard between Sunflower Ave. and MacArthur Blvd.) For more info go to www.boutiquing.com!
